What we do

JUEGA promotes recreation and integration spaces for the children, youth, physical challenged people and their families that are also challenged economically and live in priority neighborhoods. We aim to involve and create synergies among five key socio-economic sectors for any country development: local governments, private sector mindful to social responsibilities, NGO’s, international organizations, Central American collectives of professional and communities. We will work on inclusive projects that respond to the local necessities of each community using local and accessible resources.

The value of JUEGA’s proposal is supported by focusing community development in recycling, social innovation and collaboratoration methodology approaches. First, we identify the aspirations of children and youth, and then we include colors, shapes, and mechanical, acoustic and motor-skills characteristics to the generation of ideas that evolve into functional and creative designs. Subsequently, the furniture of the playgrounds is built by trades and volunteers of the community. These builders learn the know-how and capacities to transform residues (such as used tires, wood, pipes) into useful objects. The necessities are been approached in a different way of conventional practices, that before have created assistancialism and disjointed community participation to address solutions to their problems.
